Hyatt Place Atlanta/Alpharetta/North Point Mall

It is understandable that there are renovations happening; however, there was not a working safety latch on the door. We had to put a chair in front of the door. Further, in the main hall there was a window that had no glass only a piece of particle board partially covering the hole. There were only 3 pillows on the king sized bed and no extras. The restroom was very very small. This hotel room cost $200+ a night but gave an experience of a hotel of $80 a night. While the location is great that’s about the only redeeming quality.

This hotel is definitely the WORST I experienced in past two decades. This past Friday night, my family (including two children) and I arrived at this hotel after a four-hour non-stopped drive. We had made a reservation two days in advance. A lady working at the front desk said no rooms available for us, despite our confirmed reservation. I never received any email or phone call before the check in day. To make matters worse, the lady provided no explanation, was not willing to offer any help, and just asked us to check with other neighboring hotels on our own, such as aloft. We were shocked and extremely frustrated. I had to find another available hotel room a few miles away during the late hours. This affected my schedule for the entire weekend. By the way, the hotel parking lot was pretty empty when I arrived. I would give zero start if the google review allowed me to do so.

There’s two parts to this review, the morning staff are quite helpful and nice to deal with but the evening staff is very rude and sarcastic and difficult to deal with. We understood when we signed in that the hotel was undergoing renovations but I could have sworn that there was a sign up that stated the reservations were to be between 9am-5pm each day. This morning they started at 8am and when I called to complain that they were still working after 5pm I was informed that they were going to be working until 7pm. I’m a nurse and I need to get up early to get ready for work and I feel that 7pm is too late to have hammering and sawing going on. Never mind we are still paying full price for the room! It sounds like someone is trying to come thru the walls and ceilings!

Checked in 7/22/23 checked out 7/24/23 We were given a room that looked like it was still under construction. The floor had been replaced and had paint on it, there was NO hot water, there was a mini fridge that was on the floor, there was no counter space at all, the sofa was filthy. I went to the front desk and asked for another room, and was given a room that had not been remodeled yet, and it was in better condition than the first room, but the door to the closet was broken, the curtains smelled real bad, the TV got real hot you could feel the heat coming from it when you walked passed it. There where 2 elevators which were very slow, and both were filthy from the construction workers, which were never swept the whole time we were there. We didn't bother to eat there considering how dirty the rest of the hotel was, we weren't taking any chances about how and where the food was prepared! When we checked out there were no luggage carts to be found! I would not recommend this place, and I will NEVER stay there again!!!

This hotel may have been good 15 years ago but this is the Worst Hyatt I have ever stayed in. They are renovating it, but it shouldn’t be open. The AC in the first floor doesn’t work so you walk in and it’s hot and humid. Only one elevator works. The other elevator is dirty and worn. The finishes and carpet, technology, is all outdated and show years of wear. I found a half smoked cigarette in the hall. Not things you expect from a Hyatt Place.

Don't try to book this hotel. This by far was the worst Hyatt Place I had experienced. First, this place was filled with bunch of high school boys who were walking around topless at the front lobby area MIDNIGHT and the clerk didn't even bother to give them any etiquette check. There weren't any adults supervising them either. This Hyatt had really become a high school dormitory. Worst of all, this place had overbooked the rooms and my confirmed reservation got completely ignored. The front desk clerk wasn't even trying to be helpful for the situation and was literally just shrugging. I ended up calling my concierge call center and spent literally 1 hour to get the full refund. The concierge apologized but the hotel clerk pretended that it wasn't their fault and gave me a I don't care gesture. Whatever the cause might have been, this situation wasn't expected from the confirmed reservation that was booked by the VISA INFINITE concierge. VISA should bring this Hyatt Place down from their concierge hotel lists. Often times, there are plenty of 4 star hotels near that are even cheaper.
